Tech-savvy or not, moving web hosting and email is a bigger job than it looks when it is done properly — and „properly“ means the change is nearly invisible to both your colleagues and the public. How we do it
- We copy the site to our servers and get it working there first, on a temporary address only we and you can see.
- You check it. Nothing has changed for the public at this point.
- We copy the mailboxes, including the full history — every folder, every old message, not just new mail from the switchover onward. We can even merge mailboxes of departed colleagues into mailboxes currently in use.
- Only then do we move the DNS, so visitors and mail follow to a server that is already known to work.
- We watch the tail end of the change and catch anything still pointing at the old host.
The mail history part
This is where migrations usually go wrong, and it is the part we had to become genuinely good at for selfish reasons — we, our families and our friends all keep enormous inboxes going back years and refuse to lose any of it. If your old host supports IMAP, your mail comes across.
What it costs
Free migration is included through spring 2027. After that, migration will be quoted case by case — and non-profits, NGOs and organizations doing work that plainly deserves the help will still not usually be charged for it either way.
