Our services

Everything we do beyond shared hosting: container hosting with staging, back-office tools, an outsourced tech department, and backup protection.

We started as a plain web host in 2006 and have added things ever since, mostly because somebody asked. If what you need is not here, ask — that is how most of this list came about.

Shared hosting

The classic service, and still the one most customers are on. Three plans, fixed prices, included admin time.

Container hosting with staging

Built and currently in testing. Your site runs in its own container rather than sharing space, which makes it both faster to reason about and harder to compromise — if something does go wrong, you can re-deliver the whole site from a known-good state.

You get a development copy and a staging copy that only you and the people you nominate can see, alongside the live one. You change development, push it to staging when you are happy, look again, then push to live.

Green AI WordPress design

An AI-assisted design service that uses the same development, staging and live flow, with human review before anything is published. In active development.

Green AI compute — Green Cycles

Training and inference need a great deal of electricity, and almost nobody buying compute is told where their workload ran or what was burning to power it. Green Cycles is our answer: a marketplace for GPU capacity from providers on verified renewable supply, with flexible jobs scheduled for the hours when the grid is cleanest.

It also puts idle hardware back to work, which beats manufacturing more of it. It is a separate service with its own site, signup and pricing — nothing about your hosting with us changes either way. Also under development. Seeking EU grants and partnerships.

VPS and dedicated servers

From our own infrastructure, and resold from our upstream provider. This is a highly individual service, so it starts with a conversation rather than a price list.

Back-office utilities

Basic services that smaller and newer organizations often lack, and should not have to fund a project to obtain:

  • A business phone tree, and outbound dialing that shows your business number.
  • A paperless office: document management with automatic search indexing, built on the open-source Paperless NGX project.
  • DMARC monitoring, so you find out that somebody is spoofing your domain before your customers do.
  • A deliberately slow bulk mailer — a thousand addresses sent as small batches over weeks, which gets through filters that reject a single thousand-recipient blast.
  • Adaptive mail filtering for persistent unwanted senders.
  • A physical re-mailer, so post to another region is sent from the nearest region we operate in.
  • Groupware on Nextcloud: chat, file sharing and calendars for a distributed team, without handing the lot to a large advertising company.

A tech department you can afford

Good internal technical support is normally the preserve of well-funded organizations, which excludes most of the well-intentioned ones. We offer a virtual but genuinely human-staffed technical department: a named team, shared calendars so we know when your pivotal events are, someone reachable in an emergency, and a private running record of your systems that only you and your team can see.

Because whoever picks up your request can see what your organization is for, you tend to get somebody who cares about it.

Backup and threat protection

Two ends of a spectrum. At one end, a cheap backup covering just your documents. At the other, Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud on green storage, covering devices, email and web threats continuously, updated as new threats appear.

The unglamorous truth is that security specialists talk about when rather than if. A small company with a broad product range cannot keep pace with that alone, which is why the “complete protection” part is a partnership with a firm that does nothing else. Note that while they’re very good, they aren’t necessarily very green — one of our few compromises.

Community projects

Longer-term and more experimental: a small private social network for clients and their people, away from the large platforms, and a vetted, client-only arrangement for hosting each other physically when traveling. Ask if either sounds interesting.
